NYBAP on Voice of America

May 23rd, 2006 : bangladesh, nybap

In an ongoing effort to promote NYBAP and increase our membership, I’ve been contacting various news media catering to the Bangladeshi and Bangladeshi American communities. One of my leads put me in touch with Voice of America’s Bangla service which broadcasts over the Internet and their senior correspondent, Mr. Kabiruddin Sarkar, interviewed my wife, Ruhana and I a few weeks back. The program aired live on Sunday, May 21st and was made available online soon afterwards.

In order to make it more accessible, I’ve spliced out the NYBAP segment into a separate .mp3 file which you can hear by clicking on the button below.

The full program is available for download by clicking here. (Real Player required.)

Thanks to Voice of America for interviewing us and making the content available in the public domain.

NYBAP – My other project

May 1st, 2006 : bangladesh, nybap

For those of you who know me outside of this blog, you know that I’ve been heavily involved with an organization called NYBAP – The Network of Young Bangladeshi American Professionals since its relaunch in August 2005. The experience has shaped me in many ways but most of all I’ve learned a lot about leadership and marketing an organization – what works, what doesn’t. Before I forget some of these lessons, I think its worth blogging about them so I’ve inaugurating a new series of posts. They will all be tagged with NYBAP so you can follow along at your leisure.
